2022 U20 (F) World Cup: Sixteen teams qualified for the third round
The second round of qualifying for the U20 Women’s World Cup ended on Saturday 9 October. Sixteen teams will meet in the third round before the home stretch of these playoffs.
South African U20s qualified for the third round
Sixteen teams will play the third round of the qualifiers for the 2022 U20 Women’s Cup . Thirty teams were in fact in contention from September 23 to October 9 for the second round. The best nations of African women’s football will be there.
These include Nigeria, Cameroon, South Africa. Ghana qualified automatically after Mauritania’s withdrawal.
In the next round, they will find Tanzania, Zambia, Senegal, Guinea-Bissau, Ethiopia, Uganda, Gambia, Morocco , Congo, Burundi, Botswana and Guinea. These sixteen teams will face each other next December in order to obtain a place for the play-offs. At the end of these qualifications, only two countries will represent Africa at the World Cup to be held in Costa Rica in 2022.
