2022 World Cup: Carlos Queiroz relies on expatriates to dominate Libya
Egypt and its new coach Carlos Queiroz will face Libya in a double confrontation within the framework of the qualifications of the world 2022. In view of these matches, the Portuguese technician announced on Monday the summons of nine players based abroad to there to take part.

The new Pharaohs coach Carlos Queiroz was quick to add his touch to his new team. Indeed, in view of the double confrontation between Egypt and Libya , on October 6 and 10 as part of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers, the Portuguese technician shared on Monday a mini-list of the players summoned for these matches. And in this one, there are nine expatriate players.
“Queiroz has announced the list of players based abroad who will be called upon to join the Egyptian national team’s training camp as part of the preparations for the World Cup qualifiers,” read a statement. by the Egyptian Football Federation (EFA).
According to EFA, the nine players called up are: Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah, Ittihad de Jeddah defender Ahmed Hegazi, Arsenal player Mohamed Elneny, Konyaspor striker Ahmed ‘Kouka’ Hassan , Sam Morsi of Ipswich Town FC, Omar Marmoush of Stuttgart, goalscorer for Galatasaray, Mostafa Mohamed, Ahmed Yasser Rayan of Altay and Karim Hafez of Yeni Malatyaspor.
In addition to the summons of these nine expatriates by the coach, this mini-list also includes four new features. Indeed, Ahmed Yasser Rayan, member of Altay SK, is summoned for the first time with the Pharaohs. Karim Hafez, Sam Morsi and Omar Marmoush are back in the group. Carlos Queiroz will however call on other local players on September 26 to complete his list.
Currently second in the group, Egypt will first play a friendly match against Liberia on September 30, before their double confrontation against Libya.
