2022 World Cup: the DRC-Tanzania match will be played behind closed doors
DR Congo-Tanzania will be played without an audience
The match between DR Congo and Tanzania on September 2 will be played behind closed doors. So decided CAF for this first day of qualifying for the 2022 World Cup.
The Congolese Football Federation (FECOFA) had however requested the presence of 9,000 people at the Lubumbashi stadium. But, the continental body said niet. The match will therefore take place without spectators.
CAF specifies that this decision was taken after analysis and assessment of the health situation, compliance with stadium requirements and the safety and security of the site.
CAF also asked FECOFA to comply with this decision on pain of being subject to disciplinary sanctions in the event of non-compliance.
