2026 World Cup (Q): the Congo – Morocco match relocated to Kinshasa
It is at the Stade des Martyrs in Kinshasa that the Red Devils of Congo Brazzaville will host the Atlas Lions of Morocco on June 11 on the sidelines of the 4th day of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in group E. information was officially revealed by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation via a press release specifying the dates and locations of its two matches counting for the 3rd and 4th Day of qualifying for the 2026 World Cup.
This relocation of the match to Kinshasa follows the non-approval of all stadiums in Congo Brazzaville by CAF. The Stade Alphonse Massamba-Débat, proposed by the Congolese Football Federation, and which had recently hosted the CAF interclub cup matches, will not be able to host this match due in particular to the poor state of its pitch.
In a group E reduced to 5 teams after the withdrawal of Eritrea, the Red Devils of Congo Brazzaville are dead last with zero points while the Atlas Lions occupy the head of the group with 3 points after just one match played for both teams.
