Rugby 7’S : Senegal and Tunisia validate their tickets for the African championship

The pre-qualifying tournament for the Rugby Sevens World Cup in Alexandria, Egypt, delivered its verdict on Saturday. Tunisia offers the title ahead of Senegal. But both teams have qualified for the African Rugby Sevens Championship.
The final was also fiercely contested. The two selections were tied (5-5) at the end of the two regulatory periods. Tunisia, however, scored a try in overtime and won the trophy. The Carthage Eagles are even unbeaten in this tournament.
They had already beaten the Senegal lions in the group stage (7-5). Earlier this Saturday, Tunisians and Senegalese had logically imposed themselves respectively ahead of Libya and Egypt.
This tournament also serves as a qualification for the Men’s and Women’s Sevens Rugby World Cup scheduled for September 9-11, 2022 in Cape Town, South Africa. Among the women, it is the Lionesses of Senegal who prevail by winning their two double confrontations against the host country, Egypt (22-07 and 22-05) and Algeria (22-05 and 19-05) .
They won the only ticket in play for the qualifying tournament for the Women’s World Cup scheduled for April 2022 in Tunisia.
