Volleyball club la Loi won the 17th edition of the Congo Volleyball Cup in the women’s category this Friday, October 15 in Kinshasa. A 3-2 victory over Volleyball Club Canon.
The Kinshasa club has only existed since 2016. This is its first national title. This in a derby against the defending champion, Volleyball Club Canon.
The daughters of coach Crispin Nkelele also won the first two sets (26-24 and 25-20). But they then gave in in the next two (21-25 and 25-27).
It was finally in the tie-break that La Loi was able to win (15-09). The Law thus takes its revenge on Canon who had beaten it in the final of the last edition in 2019 (3-0).
This title is the fruit of consistency, rejoices the coach of VC la Loi, Crispin Nkelele. “ It’s the best day of my life, we’ve been waiting for this title for a long time.
After only 5 years of existence, here we are crowned champions, it’s magnificent. It is the fruit of a great deal of work which has been gradually phased out. In the last edition we lost the final and this year we had to win and we did.
He indicated. The law will represent the DRC at the next edition of the African Cup of Champions Clubs.
The men’s final pitted VC Espoir against VC Mwangaza. But insufficient light caused the match to be interrupted. The two teams were in the tie-break. The match will be replayed this Saturday, October 16 at 9 a.m.
