Genoa: Algerian Mohamed Fares wears his club with a brace
Mohamed Fares offered victory to Genoa this Saturday by scoring a brace
A winning entry. For his first appearance of the season with his club Genoa, Algerian left-back Mohamed Fares has everyone agree. The former Lazio player helped his side earn three valuable points against Cagliari with a brace, despite being left on the bench in the first half of the game.
The Algerian defender first offered the equalizer (1-1) to his training by scoring with a nice header in the 69th minute. Then ten minutes later, Mohamed Fares does it again for Genoa’s third goal . Receiving a cross from a corner, he cleverly managed to place a new header to deceive the Sardinian goalkeeper. A double that allows Genoa to win the away match (2-3).
After a complicated end of the 2020-2021 season at Lazio, the Algerian international thus finds the lawns in the most beautiful way. And, with this performance, Mohamed Fares becomes the first player in the history of Genoa to score a brace for his first match under the colors red and blue.
