Tokyo 2020: strict restrictions for Olympic Games without Covid-19
The Organizing Committee of the Jo has published new strict rules to ensure the safety of the event
No alcohol, no hug, no cheer, no autograph … One month before the opening ceremony, the organizers of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games (July 24-August 8) unveiled this Wednesday June 23, strict anti-Covid rules. Indeed, the president of the Organizing Committee, Seiko Hashimoto, specifies that “the spectators will be able to feel joy in their hearts, but cannot be noisy and must avoid the crowds”.
The Organizing Committee had in the same spirit announced, Monday June 21, that only 10,000 spectators will be present on each site. And the entry will be scrutinized. People who will indeed have a body temperature above 37.5 degrees, during two separate checks, will not be able to access the sites.
Athletes are not spared by these measures either. They will be subjected to daily anti-Covid tests and will be kept away from the public.
Hashimoto says all the same that the organizers will have to be creative to create a positive atmosphere
