Zamalek was unsuccessful.  The great Cairo club has just announced that CAF has closed its complaint in the case of suspected match-fixing between Esperance Tunis and MC Algiers.  This match counted for the last day of the group stage of the CAF Champions League.

The African football body  “found no evidence”  after studying the case.  The Egyptians had inflicted a correction (4-1) on Teungueth FC of Senegal.

However, they needed a victory for the Esperanto players to qualify for the quarter-finals.

Unfortunately for them, the Tunisians and the Algerians had drawn (1-1) on the last day of the group stage.

An elimination that those in charge of Zamalek still cannot digest.  They had thus filed a request with CAF for an arranged match
