Qatar 2022- France: Aurelien Tchouaméni racially abused

Aurelien Tchouameni has deactivated the comment section of his official Instagram account after numerous racial abuses, hours after France lost their World Cup crown to Argentina.

Despite a hat-trick from Kylian Mbappé, ‘Les Blues’ succumbed to Argentina in post match penalties (4-2) after a three-all draw obtained at the end of extra time.

Aurélien Tchouaméni missed his penalty just like Kingsley Coman. It was not long before the FC Bordeaux Academy graduate decided to block the comment section of his Instagram account so as to let the tension pipe down.

Only Hugo Lloris played more minutes for the 2-time World champions than Tchouameni, who put up 623 minutes for his side.

The French midfielder of Cameroonian descent was fielded in every game as a much changed France unprecedentedly reached successive World Cup finals, scoring one goal in the process.

Like Tchouameni, Randal Kolo Muani, 24, has equally been racially abused on social networks after he missed a clear cut chance in extra time, considered ‘match point’ when the game was tied at 3-3. The Frankfurt man could not keep his calm before in extra time by falling on an excellent Emiliano Martinez
