Zambia: Zanaco FC launches its women’s team
Zambian women’s football welcomes a new team. It is indeed Zanaco FC. The team based in Lusaka wants to grow quickly to finally become one of the biggest reservoirs of talent for the national team. “ Since the creation of Zanaco FC in 1978, the club had never had a women’s team. But, with the slow growth of women’s football and guidance from FIFA and other stakeholders for the participation of women in all sports, we finally launched the women’s team, ” says Marlon Kananda.
Then the general manager of the club to continue. “The management decided to invent the name of limited sports club, the club had in mind other sports such as women’s football. And in line with the current FAZ strategic plan, the introduction of women ‘ s football is bearing fruit as the women’ s league has taken off this season. And the she-polopolo women’s national team is doing very well and competing at the international level , ”he said.
Zanaco FC then follows in the footsteps of NAPSA Stars who also set up their women’s team a week ago.
