AFCON Women 2022: Grace Chanda, Zambian satisfaction
Zambian striker Grace Chanda
Zambia stood out at the Women’s AFCON Morocco 2022 . For their second participation, the Cooper Queens stopped in the semi-finals. They were beaten by South Africa. But the Zambians are still satisfied with their tournament. Especially since the team has been deprived of several of its players including Barbara Banda, excluded from the competition for medical reasons.Zambian coach Bruce Mwepe was able to count on Grace Chanda. The Copper Queensnumber 10 was mind-blowing. Chanda has twice finished “Woman of the Match”, against Togo and against South Africa. Despite the disappointment, Chanda is already looking ahead to the small final against Nigeria on Friday. “ We were so close. We controlled the game, but we didn’t win. We will now focus on the playoff game for third place and bring home the bronze medal ,” Chanda said after the game. She adds. “We showed that despite the absence of some senior players, we were able to outsmart our opponents. It wasn’t the case this time, but we’ll be ready for next time .”
