The Moroccan club Wydad Casablanca is on probation. The African Football Confederation (CAF) set this Monday, August 9 an ultimatum to the Reds.CAF orders Widadi club to settle once and for all its dispute with Nigerian player Chisom Chikatara.
Otherwise, the defending Botola champion (Moroccan D1) would not take part in the Champions League next season.
In official correspondence, the African football body asked the club to pay the sum of 136,000 euros to the player by August 15 at the latest. Otherwise, the Moroccan team may not play the next edition of the Champions League.
Chisom Chikatara had, in 2018, solicited CAF for salaries not paid by Wydad Casablanca. Since then, the case has seen several judgments at the level of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation.
As well as to FIFA, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) and the Swiss Federal Court.
