Anthony Obame ready for the African Taekwondo Championships in Dakar

Crowned African champion in the +87 kg category in 2014 in Tunisia, Anthony Obame will be keen to repeat this feat in Dakar. The Senegalese capital is indeed home to the 12th edition of the African Taekwondo Championships.

Highly anticipated, the Olympic vice-champion enters the running this Saturday afternoon. He will face Malian Nouhoum Diawara in the +87 kg quarter-finals. The other quarter-final will pit Moroccan Ayoub Bassel against Senegalese Malick Niang.

Two other Gabonese will also be in competition this Saturday morning for this first day. This is Emmanuelle Atora Eyegue (-57kg) who will be opposed in the round of 16 to Senegalese Ndèye Fatou Faye. And also Séverin Ndong Obame who will face the Ivorian Aaron François Kobenan in the round of 16 of -68 kgAfrica    News 24
