The Egyptian club Al Ahly does not intend to give up its Moroccan international defender Badr Banoun. The most successful club in Africa has, in fact, rejected offers from Gulf teams for the departure of the former captain of Raja Casablanca.
According to Egyptian media, Saudi team Al Taâwon wanted to find Badr Banoun for an amount of $ 6 million, in order to strengthen its ranks during the current season. But the coach of the “Red Devils”, the South African Pitso Mosimane, declared that Banoun remains with the champions of Africa, in particular to defend the colors of the club during the next phases. Al Ahly must notably play in the Egyptian Supercup and continue his journey in the Egyptian Cup. The “Red Devils” will also face Raja de Casablanca on behalf of the CAF Supercup and intend to recover the lost title in the league.
Quoted by the Egyptian press, Pisto Mosimane affirmed that Al Ahly will not let go of Badr Banoun at present, “because he is a very important element of his composition and that he is relied on a lot in the line of defense”. In a statement to the Moroccan news agency MAP, the director of football of the Cairo club, Sayed Abdel Hafeez, concurred, saying that Al Ahly “has no intention of letting Badr Banoun go”
