This is reassuring news for Djamel Belmadi. The Fennecs coach should be able to count on Andy Delort for the next few days of the CAN 2021 qualifiers. After three weeks of absence, the Algerian striker is slowly recovering from his muscle injury. The Montpellier striker could also return to the competition next week. He has already resumed training.

The Hérault coach remains confident for the return of his star striker. “ Andy Delort works with physical trainers and physiotherapists. We get it back after the Coupe de France,  ” announces Michel Der Zakarian at a press conference . Andy Delort will not play this weekend. But he should make his return to Ligue 1 in the derby against Nîmes Olympique on March 14.

A relief for Montpellier

Andy Delort suffers from hamstrings. It is in fact a relapse. A new injury contracted during the victory of Montpellier on the ground of Olympique Lyonnais (1-2), on February 13 . His return is a great relief for the Hérault residents and for the Fennecs. But Michel Der Zakarian will have to wait another ten days to be able to count on his best pyrotechnist.

The Algerian striker is currently Montpellier’s top scorer in Ligue 1. He is tied with his French teammate Gaëtan Laborde. Both have 9 goals. But Delort has 8 assists in 20 games.
