Pierre-Emerick
During his first outing in the Premier League on August 13 for the 2021-2022 season , Arsenal had to do without Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang against the promoted Brentford (2-0). According to the club, the absence of his Gabonese striker was justified by an illness. The nature, however, had not been specified.
But on Thursday, August 19, as the Gunners prepare for their derby against Chelsea, scheduled for Sunday, the London club revealed that Aubameyang as well as Lacazette and Ales Runarsson were positive for Covid-19. So that’s the reason why they missed the first league game.
Aubameyang will however be available for the game against the Blues on Sunday afternoon. The Gabonese star’s latest tests are negative, according to club .
