BAL (1/4 final): Zamalek corrects FAP and goes to the semi-final
Zamalek players are the first to qualify for the BAL semi-finals
Zamalek (Egypt) qualified on Wednesday for the semi-finals of the Basketball Africa League (BAL) . The Egyptians exploded (82-53), the Cameroonians of the Armed Forces and Police (FAP).
Yet the FAP made a good start to the game by winning the 1st quarter (16-12). However, Cameroonians will be less aggressive and applied in their transition. So leaving the Zamalek steamroller to start. The Egyptians are only led by 3 pts (25-22) with less than 5 minutes to play. They even pass in front at the break (30-28).
In the 3 th quarter time, Egypt’s stands (41-31). There are 6 minutes left to play. The American leader, Walter Wallace Hodge pulls out all the stops, hurts with 13 pts scored in this quarter. The Zamalek then offers itself a mattress of 13 pts (55-42).
The “money-time” will only be a simple walk. The Egyptians are well ahead (68-45). Zamalek then logically wins (82-53) and wins his ticket for the semi-finals.
The 2 nd quarter-final will pit AS Salé (Morocco) against Petro de Luanda (Angola) this Wednesday evening at 19h GMT .
