The selection of Beach soccer of Mozambique is about to complete its preparation for Can 2021 scheduled for Dakar from May 23 to 29. In training in Portugal since May 10, the “Mambas” played three friendly matches sanctioned by two draws on the same score ( 4-4) and against the same opponent, ACD Sótão, and one victory (6-3) in front of the Grupo Desportivo Nazarenos.

These results reassure the Mozambican coach.  “The results are positive.  We have achieved the objectives defined in Maputo.  The technical, tactical and physical aspects of the team have improved ” , rejoices Abineiro Ussaca in Opais .

Defensive shortcomings to be corrected

On the other hand, the technician pointed to the feverishness of his defense, which conceded 11 goals in 3 games.  “We played against teams with a European style of play in the first two games but we conceded four goals in each game.  For us, it’s too much, ” he thundered.

However Ussaca is satisfied with the physical progress of his team. The “Mambas”, who are 90% in legs, according to their coach, should be able to be 100% before the opening of the CAN. They will deliver four training sessions on Portuguese soil before flying to Dakar on Friday, May 20.

Mozambique is housed in group B along with Egypt, Morocco and  Seychelles  .
