C1: 3 African countries represented in half
Senegal, Morocco and Algeria are the three countries that will have a representative in the semi-finals of the Champions League.
There will not be a lot of African internationals in the C1 semi-finals. Liverpool and Porto, which had the most, remain docked. They will therefore only be five in the last square. At Chelsea, there are two: Senegalese goalkeeper Edouard Mendy and Moroccan attacking midfielder Hakim Zyech. The Blues will however face a Real Madrid where there is no footballer from the continent. The other poster, however, guarantees the presence of at least one African in the final. Indeed, there is a representative in each team. On the one hand, the Algerian Ryad Mahrez of Manchester City who will play his first European semi-final. And on the other, the two Senegalese from PSG Abdou Lakhat Diallo and Idrissa Gana Guèye, finalists already last season.

Paris could also have a 3rd African with the Moroccan Kays Ruiz-Attil. The 18-year-old midfielder has not played any C1 game this season. But he was nevertheless on the scoresheet four times in the group stage. In total therefore, Senegal (3), Morocco (1) and Algeria (1) will be the African countries represented in the square of aces. In the last edition, there was no African international, winner of the Champions League . Even if at Bayern Munich sacred, there are several players from the continent like the Canadian Alphonso Davies, born in Ghana. It is the opposite of Liverpool, champion in 2019 with Mohamed Salah (Egypt), Sadio Mané (Senegal), Naby Keita (Guinea) and Joel Matip (Cameroon).
