CAF Cup: Huge comeback of the ASAC Concorde of Mauritania
Beaten 3-0 in the first leg by AS Kara from Togo, ASAC Concorde performed a great feat at home. The Mauritanians won 4-0 and advance to the second preliminary round of the Confederation Cup.
ASAC Concorde achieves a resounding feat
What a feat of ASAC Concorde! This Sunday, at the time of kickoff, hardly anyone was indeed putting a coin on the Mauritanians. Because a week ago, they had completely sunk against AS Kara at the Kégué stadium in Lomé (3-0). But at home, they, against all odds, managed to turn the tide (4-0). And yet at halftime, ASAC Concorde was far from catching up. She led 1-0 in effect through Demini (12 th ).
After the break, however, Mauritanians quickly put the 2-0 through Saidou Barry (54 th ). The Togolese hang on to keep their qualification but they will give up at the very end of the match. Maouloud puts the two teams tied on the two games (3-0, 84th). And at the end of extra time, Alassane Diop (94 th ) sends his team in the second preliminary round of the Confederation Cup . Grandiose. The Mauritanians will face Saoura from Algeria next October.
