CAN 2021: Equatorial Guinea threatened with exclusion

Qualified for CAN 2021, Equatorial Guinea could finally be excluded.
Qualified for the finals of CAN 2021 , Equatorial Guinea may not take part in the tournament. The reason ? Salary arrears dragged by the Equatorial Guinean Football Federation against Estaban Becker and Miguel Angel Pozanco. Respectively former coaches of the men’s and women’s teams, the two technicians did not receive their due. Salaries and severance pay, the amount of which reached the sum of 644,000 euros.
After trying to resolve this matter amicably, in vain, the two coaches seized FIFA. The world football body ruled in their favor. The Equatorial Guinean Federation (Feguifut) must pay the full amount. The FEGUIFUT has 30 days to settle the debt with respect to Becker and Pozanco, or risk seeing his selection to be disqualified from the CAN 2021. A sanction which could add the National Nzalang suspended for the last game of the playoffs at the 2022 World Cup.
