CAN 2021-Guinea: the ambitious Didier Six
From our correspondent in Camerron
French coach Didier Six is already thinking about the Africa Cup of Nations (January 9-February 6, 2022). At the head of the national Syli of Guinea, he intends to make an excellent campaign in Cameroon.
Didier Six is already reassuring for CAN 2021 in Cameroon
Guinea is preparing to honor its 13th participation in an African Cup of Nations. Housed in Group B with Senegal, Zimbabwe and Malawi, Syli has arguments to be one of the two teams that will qualify for the next round. Moreover, his trainer Didier Six admits that the draw is quite lenient. “I judged this draw very well,” he said on the CAF website on Sunday, August 22.
Guinea has so far only played a CAN final. It was in 1976. Since then, the Syli often stalls in the quarter-finals. And this time, Didier and his men want to kill the black cat and finally offer a smile to the Guinean people. “I come out of this draw without worry, I just want to go far,” he says.
Before approaching such a dream, Didier Six recognizes that there are prerequisites. “Our preparation, we will look at it in the coming weeks. We have a lot of work because we have the Africa Cup of Nations which is behind, but before there is the qualification for the World Cup ”, he specified.
Guinea should not make the mistake of fixing Senegal. Watch out for Zimbabwe and Malawi. The Zimbabwe Warriors know how to be fierce, just like the Malawi Flames . “The 24 teams are all high level. They are not there by chance, so we have to think that all the matches will be difficult, ” admits the technician.
The Africa Cup of Nations will take place from January 9 to February 6, 2022. Didier Six and his players will face Malawi, Senegal and Zimbabwe in turn on January 10, 14 and 18, 2022
