Forty-four African teams are vying for the first round of qualifying for the Morocco 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations . Initially scheduled for June 2021, the matches were postponed by CAF in October. The first rounds are played from October 18 to 20, while the returns will be from October 23 to 26.

On the menu, we will have tempting posters. There is in particular the English-speaking Nigeria-Ghana derby. A giant of African women’s football will therefore fall. The Super Falcons are nevertheless favorites. Three-time African champions, they are still at the top of the African ranking . The Ghanaian women, on the other hand, are in fourth place.

Equatorial Guinea will also attract attention. The Equatorial Guineans are thus making their comeback, after four years of suspension. Twice African champions, they will therefore want to reconnect with their former glory. And their confrontation with the Congo will certainly be worth the detour.

Tanzania will also be to follow. The Tanzanians come out of a great victory against Malawi in the COSAFA Cup . Their opposition to Namibia should keep all its promises. Finally, it should be noted that Djibouti is automatically qualified in the following round, after the withdrawal of Rwanda.
