ES Sétif made the announcement in a statement published Monday on its Facebook page. The match was initially to be played in Algeria. But due to the ban on entry into Algerian territory for South African teams, the Black Eagles were obliged to find a solution under penalty of CAF sanction.

The Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns, in LDC, are also affected by these bans motivated by the risk of contamination with the South African variant of Covid-19. The Chiefs were greeted by Moroccans from Wydad AC in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. Match largely won (4-0) by the Moroccans .

The return matches in question

For their part, the Sundowns visited the Algerians of CR Belouizdad… in Dar es Salaam. And the champions of South Africa were ruthless against the Algerians crushed (1-5) in the Tanzanian capital. South Africa is, for the moment, the only country affected by these measures imposed by the Algerian and Moroccan authorities.

It remains to be seen whether the Moroccan teams will be authorized to travel to South Africa on their part. About ten days ago, CAF threatened Algeria and Morocco with sanctions if they did not find a solution for the reception of South African clubs. The clubs of the two countries notably risked losing their matches on the green carpet. But for now, everything is going well
