CHAN 2023: Burundi does not underestimate Djibouti

The Burundi A’ national team will travel this Wednesday July 20 to Dar es Salaam in Tanzania where it will play against Djibouti in the first round of the CHAN 2023 qualifiers . The two countries that do not have homologated stadiums have agreed to play both games at the Béjamin Mkapa stadium. The first leg is scheduled for July 24 and the return will take place on July 29.
Jimmy Ndayizeye, national coach of Burundi, thing 21 players for this double confrontation. “ Some people think we will have an easy game but they are very wrong. We have to be careful because Djiboutian football has changed a lot in recent years ,” warns Ndayizeye. The winner of this double confrontation will play against Sudan between August 26 and 28, 2022.
During the preparations for these qualifications for the African Nations Championship, Burundi delivered two matches. The first against Vital’o (1-0). The second against a team of Burundian players mostly playing in Tanzania and Rwanda on vacation (1-0).
