The disciplinary jury of the African Football Confederation (CAF) looked into the Dakar Jaraaf affair on Wednesday, June 2. Some members of the Senegalese club had indeed attacked the three referees, during their elimination in the quarter-final second leg in the CAF Cup , against Coton Sport de Garoua (Cameroon). The central whistle was even injured in the head.
The ruling moment of African football has severely sanctioned the Medina team. Its Vice-President Youssouph Dial is banned from engaging in any football-related activity for a period of two years.
The players Albert Diène and Mamadou Sylla are also suspended. They get six matches for the next CAF interclub competitions. The disciplinary jury also imposed a fine of 40,948 euros on the Dakar club.
