Will the Copa América take place this summer? Not so sure. The competition which is due to start on June 11 in Brazil is threatened. After Argentina and Colombia, Brazil could withdraw because of Covid-19. The country has about 470,000 dead and even feared a 3 th wave. And faced with this situation, part of the population is against the holding of the Copa in Brazil.

Moreover, according to the Brazilian press, the players of the Seleção would like its cancellation. When asked at a press conference, coach Tite just answered: “we have a very clear opinion and we will give it only after the two qualifying games of the 2022 World Cup”. The Brazilians face Ecuador (June 5) and Paraguay (June 9), in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers
