Djibouti deprived of internship in Qatar in March
The Djiboutian national team has been deprived of international matches since December 2019. It was after its participation in the CECAFA Cup in Uganda. It was hoped, however, that the Djiboutians would fight at the end of March, in Qatar. An internship was, in fact, envisaged in the Emirate. And Julien Mette, the French coach of Djibouti, had planned to plan one or two friendlies, against local clubs or Asian selections.
Some contacts had also been made, in particular with Palestine and Syria. But the Qatari authorities have decided that no foreign selection could come to Doha. For health reasons, indeed. Three weeks before the first FIFA date of the year 2021, time is running out. Djibouti is studying several B plans, including an internship in Tunisia. The final agenda should be known in the coming days.
