Eurobasket-Women: Astou Ndour’s Spain beaten at the start
Spain and Astou Ndour were beaten from the start in Eurobasket, despite the 15 points and 5 rebounds of the player of Senegalese origin.
The 38th edition of the women’s Eurobasket began this Thursday with France’s large victory over Croatia (105-63). The French led at the break (50-40). They will then take off in the 3rd quarter (79-52). The reigning vice-champions of Europe, the Blue are off to a good start to their tournament.
Quite the opposite of the defending champion. Spain bowed to Belarus (53-51). The 15 pts and 5 rebounds of Astou Ndour, interior of Senegalese origin, were not enough for the happiness of Spain which must redeem itself this Friday against Sweden.
The Eurobasket takes place from June 17 to 27. France and Spain are the host countries.
