FIFA: Issa Hayatou suspended for 1 year

The former president of the African Football Confederation (CAF, Issa Hayatou is suspended for one year.

The adjudicatory chamber of the independent FIFA Ethics Committee has imposed this sanction on him. The world body indeed accuses him of the former boss of African football, his breach of ethics in the Lagardère Sports case.

FIFA considers his signing of a contract with Lagardère Sports in September 2016, “contrary to competitive principles.

This guaranteed to the French company the management of the television and marketing rights of the competitions organized by CAF until 2028 ”, we read in the Team.

The 74-year-old man must also pay a fine of around 28,000 euros.
