Football: the CAF Awards (finally) back
Since 2019, African football fans have not seen a CAF Awards ceremony. But the body has decided to give a date for the return of the ceremony, next July.

We have been talking about it for months, without knowing a precise date, now the Confederation of African Football has decided. The CAF Awards ceremony, which distinguishes the awards of African football, will make its big comeback.
The governing body of African football has published a press release to this effect. The date ? Next July 21, in Morocco. A return since the last edition took place in 2019. That of 2020 did not take place because of the Covid.“This year’s edition of the prestigious African football awards ceremony, the CAF Awards 2022, will return on Thursday July 21, 2022 in Morocco. The CAF Awards will be held before the final of Africa’s flagship women’s competitions, theTotalEnergies Morocco 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations scheduled from July 2 to 23, 2022 .

Apart from the best players in the male and female categories, CAF also specifies. “Other categories include Interclub Player of the Year, Young Player of the Year, National Team of the Year, Coach of the Year, Club of the Year, Goalkeeper year. The winners will be decided by the votes of member association captains and coaches, selected journalists, CAF technical study group and CAF legends ”.To award these awards, CAF has chosen as a performance slot, between September 2021 and June 2022.
At the last CAF Awards held in 2019, Sadio Mané received the trophy for the best African player for men. While in the Ladies, the Nigerian Asisat Oshoala was awarded.
