Friendly- OL: Maxwell Cornet delivers 3 assists against Porto
Olympique Lyonnais lost their last friendly match before the resumption of Ligue 1. The Lyonnais lost heavily against FC Porto (5-3).
Repositioned left-back and criticized by several OL supporters, Maxwell Cornet shines despite his team’s defeat. The Ivorian international has, in fact, been the decisive passer on all of Lyon’s goals.
He first, on a free kick, allowed defender Marcelo to reduce the score to 2-1 before half-time. Then, he serves Cameroonian Karl Toko Ekambi for the equalizer at 2-2.
Finally when the Portuguese regain the advantage (3-2), he allows Islam Slimani to score the goal of 3-3.
The afternoon had not started well for Maxwell Cornet, however. He had, from the 3 th minute, caused a penalty that will be transformed by the Portuguese.
