Kaba Diawara will lead Guinea to the next CAN (Cameroon, from January 9 to February 6, 2022). He has been confirmed as manager for three months. The announcement was made to AFP by Séga Diallo, vice-president of the Guinean Football Standardization Committee.
The former player from Nice and Bordeaux, in particular, was appointed to the Syli bench last October. He was to remain in post for three matches after the departure of Didier Six .
Kaba Diawara led Guinea, which had already been eliminated, in the last two qualifying matches for the 2022 World Cup (0-0 against Guinea-Bissau and 0-3 defeat against Morocco). He sees his lease extended for the next CAN.
The Syli is housed in group B along with Senegal, Zimbabwe and Malawi.
