Handball: Egyptian players are a hit in Europe

            Yehia Khaled

Egypt is arguably the best African handball nation. And its players established in Europe continue to prove it. Yehia Khaled has indeed won the SEHA league with the Hungarian club Veszprèm . This competition brings together the best formations from the Balkans. The 24-year-old Pharaoh won this trophy for the second time in a row.

Veszprèm won against PPD Zagreb on penalties (31-29). The 24-year-old is one of the architects of this victory. He shook the Croatian lines eight times out of nine attempts. Khaled joined the Hungarian giant from Zamalek in 2019. He recently took part in the last Olympics where he finished best right-back in the tournament. The Egyptians also performed well by finishing 4th in Tokyo.

His compatriot Ali Zein shines under the colors of FC Barcelona. The 30-year-old left-back won the Spanish Super Cup this Sunday, September 5. The Blaugrana beat Abanca Ademar León (30-27). Zein scored 4 goals. This is also his first title with the Catalan club.
