Ivory Coast: Marie-Josée Ta Lou rewarded by the government
Marie-Josée Ta Lou receives a check from the Minister of Sports of Côte d’Ivoire
Marie-Josée Ta Lou certainly did not collect medals at the Tokyo Olympics. But on the other hand, she fought like a lioness. And his efforts have not, in fact, gone unnoticed in Côte d’Ivoire. The performances of the 32-year-old sprinter, finalist in the 100m and 200m women, are hailed by the authorities of the country. Moreover, she was even rewarded by the Ivorian government.
Back from Tokyo, Marie-Josée Ta Lou then received a check for 7,623 euros from Françoiws Albert Amichia, the Ivorian Minister of Sports. An amount of encouragement following her bravery she showed in Tokyo.
At the Olympics, Ta Lou finished 4th (10’91) and 5th (22’27), respectively in the 100m and 200m.
