Kenya’s AFC Leopards will not be able to sign new players for the next two years, starting next June. FIFA sanctions, in fact, failure to comply with a decision of the Dispute Resolution Chamber. Which had ordered in January the payment of salaries and damages to Vincent Habamahoro, ex-player of the Leopards. The total amount is 1.8 million Kenyan shilling (1.7 million FCFA).

” We take note that, in his correspondence, the creditor (Habamahoro) informs us that the debtor (AFC Leopards / Kenya) has not met its financial obligations in accordance with the FIFA decision , indicates the FIFA correspondence.

Midfielder Habamahoro joined AFC Leopards in 2018. But after four months without pay, he chose to leave. Tired of claiming his money in vain, he took the matter to FIFA. In January, the body issues an enforceable decision within 15 days. But the Leopards do not pay their debt. As a result, ” we wish to inform the parties that a ban on the registration of new players internationally has been implemented by FIFA at the start of the next registration period ,” the note added.

However, the suspension will be lifted if the former champions settle the matter with the player. The midfielder then signed for Kiyovu Sports from Rwanda in January 2020.
