LDC-CAF: The Kaizers Chiefs “ready and excited”
Very badly, the Kaizers Chiefs are playing their survival in the CAF Champions League this Saturday. The South African club is in a bad position but its coach ensures that its players are determined to reverse the trend.
Score at least one goal and not lose. For Kaizer Chiefs (8pts-1), the paths leading to the quarterfinals of the CAF Champions League are not very numerous. But they are still accessible. The South Africans are, in fact, third in Pool C at the time of playing the 6th and final day. They move on the ground of Horoya AC , current second (8pts + 1). The Guineans are therefore qualified at kick-off. However, their lead is meager. Because in the first leg, the two teams shared the points (0-0). And so a 1-1 draw would benefit Kaizer Chiefs.
Kaizer Chiefs coach prefers “attack and lose”
Coach Kearyn Baccus is, in any case, very confident. “We want to do well in the Champions League because we are not doing well in the league at the moment. We are all ready and excited, ” the technician told the South African press. The Chiefs are currently 9th in the Premier League with just 5 wins in 20 games. Qualifying for the Champions League quarterfinals would therefore be a real breath of fresh air. Besides, Baccus does not intend to calculate too much. Its objective is to disrupt the Horoya AC with offensive assaults. “I prefer to attack and lose the game rather than defend” he asserts. Horoya AC has, in any case, not lost at home in the Champions League since March 2014. It was a setback against Sfaxien of Tunisia (0-1).
