Lille-Flandres and Lille-Europe stations evacuated after an “attack alert”
The two stations in the northern metropolis were evacuated on Tuesday morning after the discovery of an abandoned suitcase. The alert has just been lifted.
This Tuesday morning, shortly before 8:30 am, the Lille Flandres and Lille Europe stations were both evacuated by the police. According to the Voix du Nord , the circulation of trains leaving and arriving at stations has been interrupted. Franck Dhersin, the vice-president of the MEL for Transport, indicated on his Twitter account that it was an “attack alert”.
Immediately, passengers were evacuated from the stations and security tapes were placed in front of Lille Flandres station. In addition, the Gare Lille Flandres and Gare Lille Europe metro stations are not served at the moment.
Many TGV delays
According to the SNCF, an “abandoned baggage was found” while specifying that the circulation of trains was interrupted “for an indefinite period” she had specified at the start. But around 9.45 am, the alert was lifted.
Except that this incident should cause many TGV delays to and from Lille stations. In addition, this evacuation takes place when TER traffic was already severely disrupted due to a local strike on the Nord-Pas-de-Calais lines: many trains are canceled on Tuesday
