Congolese clubs engaged in Ligue 1can now breathe. Left unemployed since March 9 following the stoppage of the championship, they will return to service.
Indeed, LINAFOOT has made public the rearranged schedule of the 28 remaining matches to close the first leg. This recovery will take place on Sunday, May 22 with two meetings including the clash between DCMP and His Majesty Sanga Balende in Kinshasa. This first leg will end on June 17.This resumption of the championship was made possible thanks to the disbursement of the sum of 288,000 euros by the Congolese government.
This sum corresponds to the amount requested by LINAFOOT in its specifications detailing the financial need necessary to allow the travel of the teams in order to complete the first leg.

As a reminder, the championship had stopped following the decision of the company Congo Airways to stop transporting the clubs because of the arrears of payment that the government had. Arrears now paid.If the first phase of the championship is sure to go to an end, the return phase is not yet sure to be played. Indeed, in addition to the financial problem that could arise, time will certainly be lacking.
With the first leg of the championship ending on June 17, LINAFOOT will only have 13 days, i.e. until June 30, to organize the entire return leg. Because on the evening of June 30, FECOFA will have to send CAF the names of its representatives for the next editions of the African interclub cups.
