Mali: Cheick Doucouré temporarily withdraws from the selection

A few weeks ago, the “withdrawal” of Seko Fofana from the Ivorian selection caused a stir. Today, another Lens player decides to put his selection in parentheses. Cheick Doucouré, Malian international, decided to put aside the selection. The player is however one of the selected for the last two days of qualifying for the 2022 World Cup.
Cheick Doucouré however gave an explanation. His club has also delivered it to La Voix du Nord. RC Lens thus takes the floor in place of its 21-year-old player . “ After having exchanged with the coach and officially contacted the federation, Cheick Doucouré decided to withdraw temporarily from the selection. It is a personal decision that he took care to motivate with the various representatives of the Malian federation ”.
It remains to be seen whether the players made the decision on their own, while waiting for so-called important competitions like the CAN or possibly the world. Or, if Cheick Doucouré and Seko Fofana before him, were pressured by their club. Because Lens is making a very good start to the season so far. Occupying 2 nd place in Ligue 1 (24 points).
