Nawal Khalifa is shaking up the codes in Morocco. For the first time, a woman will lead a D1 football club. Nawal Khalifa is indeed appointed, deputy president of the football section of Fath Union Sport of Rabat (FUS). This historic appointment is announced this Wednesday, August 11 by the club of the capital.
Nawal Khalifa replaces the charismatic Hamza Hajoui who remains a member of the board. His arrival at the head of the football section is not, however, usurped. The new president has notably joined the FUS since 2008. She held the position of assistant treasurer. Between 2009 and 2014, Nawal Khalifa was also a member of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF). A heavy task awaits him at the head of the fussists.
“Nawal Khalifa will have to give new impetus to the football section of the sports club. By leading the major projects for next season and the years to come, ”says the club. The new patron of the club “will have the mission of optimizing the organization and the competitiveness of the club with a dynamic recruitment and training policy”, adds the note. “Nawal Khalifa is called to pay a lot of attention to the training of young people and the emergence of talents,” concludes the club’s statement.
FUS remains one of the best Moroccan clubs in terms of training. During the past season, the team had the youngest workforce in the league. A lack of experience which, however, almost prejudiced the club in the race to maintain.
