Olympic Games 2021: Egyptian wrestler Samar Hamza withdraws
It is the end of a rich career. Egyptian wrestler Samar Hamza (26) has indeed decided to retire after her failure at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. “I am Samar Hamza. I started wrestling in 2013 at the age of 18. I participated in the African Championship for the first time in 2014. I won the championship and kept my title. What does not happen in women’s wrestling. Especially in the 76 kg category, ”writes the fighter on her facebook page.
“I am proud of the women’s wrestling and what we have accomplished. We also put Egypt on the world map, ”adds the wrestler.
“Thank you to everyone who has been by my side. My coach and my teammates. I am satisfied and thank you for this experience ”, concludes Samar Hamza.
Samar Hamza notably lost against Russian Natalia Vorobyeva (12-16) in the 16th round of the 76 kg women’s wrestling competition in these Olympics.
