Olympics 2021-Final 100 (F): the Jamaican trio breaks the dream of Marie-Josée Ta Lou
Marie-Josée Ta Lou will have to come back for the Olympic medal. As in Rio, five years ago, the Ivorian sprinter failed in the women’s 100m final of the Tokyo 2021 Olympic Games (Olympics). She came fourth at 10.91, behind the Jamaican trio winner of the event, Elaine Thompson- Herah (10 .61), Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce (10.74) and Shericka Jackson (10.76), in order.
Herah dethrones his compatriot Pryce.
She took off the new Olympic record and the second fastest time in history over 100 m.
Ta Lou was very far from his level during the heats (10.78) and in the semi-finals (10.79). She can however take comfort in having equaled the African distance record, until then held by her compatriot Murielle Ahouré.
The latter was eliminated in the semi-finals
