Rwandan President Paul Kagame has been criticized for attending the first match between Arsenal of England and Bayern Munich of Germany in the first week of mourning.
President Kagame, who is already known as a big fan of the Arsenal team, expressed his dismay at its dismissal from the competition of the teams that took part in the “Champions League” on the European continent.
These two European teams, Arsenal from England and Bayern Munich from Germany, already have relations with Rwanda. It is part of the campaign program of Visit Rwanda which is mainly related to tourism activities.
Only for President Kagame, Arsenal is a special team that he does not stop showing that he is disappointed. He repeated that on Wednesday evening, when Arsenal was dismissed by Bayern, before the quarter-finals of the European competition.
Through his X wall – formerly known as Twitter, President Kagame said: “Even though it’s gone, it’s still my team. #Arsenal.”
President Kagame also in his message through the website X, showed that he is behind Bayern Munich in the semi-final match that will match Real Madrid from Spain.
President Kagame was last seen at Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium, north of London, where he watched the first leg of the quarter-final between the two teams.

However, the Guardian says that the spokesperson of the Rwandan government has condemned this criticism of the president. He told the newspaper that the police website was “wrong” and that what it reported “does not represent Rwanda’s political line on the subject.”
The spokesperson of the Rwandan government added that in writing its announcement, the police may have relied on old regulations, which have now been updated.
Sources of this newspaper told you that the employees of the Ministry of Security in England, first learned about the visit of President Kagame five days before the match between Arsenal and Bayern Munich.
