Raila explains how he managed to take cover when his car was sprayed with live bullet.

Opposition leader, Raila Odinga, on Thursday condemned police brutality by calling out the goon who shot at his car, seven times without fear.

He stated,”There’s no justification for the excessive force used against peaceful unarmed citizens exercising their democratic rights today. The unprovoked attack left my car hit with 7 live bullets, each aimed at me. Despite this, we won’t be deterred.”

As Kenyans, we have the right to demand a forensic audit of the server to resolve this matter once and for all. Our quest won’t stop and we’ll hold the mother of all demonstrations next Monday, regardless of what our detractors say. We won’t give up, he added.

Speaking to Voice of America today, Raila explains how he managed to escape his near death experience. He highlights that at first he thought it was just protocol of shooting in the air, but the bullets were aimed at him.

He stated,”I had to take cover, and went on the seats to keep myself away from the bullets that were hitting the car. We initially thought that they were firing in the air, but later discovered that they were aiming directly at me.”

The former premier further stated that he is very sure, no police officer could publicly shoot at a car, without a go ahead from the top.

He stated,” I don’t think any police officer could aim to shoot and assassinate politicians without being commanded from the very top.”

He again called upon the international community for turning a blind eye and letting Ruto intimidate their peaceful protests.

He stated,”These people have been threatening and blackmailing us, unfortunately, the friends of this country are not helping.
“Look at the statement released by some ambassadors based here, you would think that they live in a different country; they’re actually adding fuel to this conflict instead of being independent and neutral arbiters,” he added
