Rugby-Racism: Radosavljevic suspended, Cameroonian Ambadiang calls for more
Christian Ambadiang.
Ludovic Radosavljevic received a 26-week suspension for racist insults against Christian Ambadiang. The latter said he was “happy” with the sanction, but hopes that the scrum half of Provence Rugby will do more than serve his sanction.
“I’m waiting to see what his club will say ,” said the Nevers winger in Le Journal du Center . He can’t just stay home and wait. He has to do things for the community as well. ”
Ambadiang has received many messages of support after the incident on September 3 during the Provence Rugby-Nevers match. He said he was surprised by these attentions. “I did not expect this story to go around the world, I really received a lot of support and everyone needed the sanction to be strong,” he said.
Even though he’s now trying to “focus more on the pitch and rugby,” Radosavljevic’s insults tend to come to the surface. “I wake up every day wanting to move on. But it’s not like a fight after which we apologize and forget , he said .
It’s much harder to forget. Today, these words remain stuck in my head and in my heart.
