RWANDA Gicumbi District : A man who fought with his partner killed her and died in contempt

The man, Habiyaremye Jean de Dieu, is being prosecuted for the murder of his 34-year-old colleague Singirankabo Claver, who died on Saturday night, August 21, 2021, while fighting with his partner and dying of contempt.
The incident took place in Nyagakiza Village, Ruhondo Cell in Ruvune Sector in Gicumbi District where the two were already neighbors.
Ruvune Sector Executive Secretary Ngezahumuremyi Theoneste says the fighters have been insulting each other and resulting in one death.
“They fought at three o’clock in the morning, one from a wedding venue, and the other from a drunken place,” he said.
Ngezahumuremyi also went on to say that as a result, they immediately went to the Village where the two were located to get in-depth information.
He further added that in collaboration with local authorities, they continue to educate people and encourage them to start reporting on time and avoid retaliation.
