Salomon Kalou did not convince during his stay in Botafogo. With almost six months of contract left, the Brazilian club have decided to release the Ivorian.

Salomon Kalou will have to look for another base after his imminent departure from Botafogo. The Brazilian club does not intend, however, to keep it. The Ivorian, who has a contract that ends at the end of the 2021 season, can start to ogle elsewhere.

Indeed, the club of Rio de Janeiro wants as of now, to terminate his contract ” Botafogo and Salomon Kalou reached an agreement for the dismissal of the striker. He will leave the club at the end of the Brazilian championship. The parties have negotiated the exit in recent weeks. And the agreement should be signed in the coming days  ”, informs globoesporte .

Moreover, “since his accession to the presidency of Botafogo, Durcesio Mello has expressed his desire to end the relationship with the Ivorian. The latter has the highest salary of the workforce and would be a burden for the 2021 payroll, ” adds the same source.

Already relegated to the second division, Botafogo no longer has any interest in retaining Salomon Kalou. So, keeping him with his astronomical salary, can lead to weakening the financial balance of the club.

“  Besides the high cost, the low technical performance was another factor determining the end of the relationship. Committed to impact both inside and outside the four lines, Kalou did not respond,  ”remarks globoesporte.
