Senegal Cup: defending champion Casa Sport in the final

The Casa Sport team

Casa Sport is still in the race to defend its title of winner of the Senegal Cup. The Ziguinchor club , recent champions of Senegal, defeated AJEL de Rufisque (D3) 2-1 in the semi-finals at the Aline Sitoé Diatta stadium on Wednesday 15 June. The Green and Whites were however off to a bad start in this match against a formation which plays in National 1 but which has already offered Ligue 1 leaders in its list of hunts. Allassane Faye in the 45th responds to Baba Cissé’s opener. And the Gambian nugget Lamin Jarju, ideally served by his compatriot Ablie Kassama, delivers a whole stadium in the 89th minute of play on a shot from the top corner (2-1).

Casa Sport will face in the final Étoile Lusitana, another 3rd division club, who defeated Linguère de Saint-Louis (2-1).
